Strollers denied late winner as Bo'ness hold on for draw

Civil SERVICE STROLLERS and Bo'ness United drew 1-1 in an entertaining pre-season friendly with John Stewart, the former Clyde player, giving Bo'ness the lead shortly after half-time.

Alan Wilson notched the equaliser after good work by Craig Dickson who almost scored a late winner, only to be denied by a fine save from former Stirling Albion goalkeeper Scott Christie.

Leith Athletic, newcomers to the Central Taxis Premier Division, travelled to meet Benburb Juniors and were narrowly defeated 3-2 after taking the lead through Jason Stevens. Three goals in a seven-minute spell midway through the first half from Richard Lovering, Mark Davis and Max Asante saw Benburb storm into a half-time lead. However, a second-half Greig Tulloch header reduced the leeway but Leith could not find an equaliser. Leith manager Derek Riddel said: "It was a great experience for our players."
