Long delays on Edinburgh Bypass after broken down vehicle

Motorists are facing lengthy delays on the Edinburgh City Bypass this lunchtime due to a broken down vehicle.

The vehicle broke down between lane 1 of the A720 at the Straiton junction and the lay-by, appearing to partially block the westbound lane.

Queues of up to 15 minutes were originally reported following the incident at 11.10am.

According to Traffic Scotland, the vehicle has now been cleared and moved to the hard shoulder, however drivers have been warned that traffic is still slow in the area.
