Titanic effort for orchestra

THE Edinburgh Light Orchestra are to mark the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic at a concert next month.

The orchestra will play highlights from the score of film director James Cameron’s 1997 telling of the tragedy at the Queen’s Hall on May 26.

Conductor James Beyer said: “There were countless heroic deeds that night, none more so than the brave musicians who continued to play as the tragic events unfolded. We especially remember them in our tribute.”
