THE Scotsman has a long and proud history of being at the centre of debate in Scotland and I want to continue and develop that. I believe that over a period of years we have seen an ever-narrowing news agenda and as a result I believe there are innovations, debates, research and informative views across broad spectrums of Scotland and beyond that are not getting the airing they need and deserve because they fall outwith the news agenda of the day.

We are asking all Friends of The Scotsman to hold a ‘Friends
Subscription” and receive at least one copy of The Scotsman on a daily
basis. There is no additional charge to join the Friends group. Once
you join you can begin submitting content for the daily friend’s pages
in The Scotsman and www.scotsman.com

These “friends” copies are acquired with 33% off the normal price of the
same papers in the shops. Monday to Friday that’s just 80p per copy,
instead of £1.20. Plus, as a friends' subscriber you also receive The
Scotsman app for free (worth £7.99 per month - operating on Apple, Google
Play and Kindle Fire). Subscribers receive printed vouchers which can
be exchanged at a newsagent or other retailers or existing office
delivery services for your newspapers.

Individuals are not eligible but Friends of The Scotsman is open to
institutions, trade associations, professional bodies, societies,
interest groups, charities and others.
If you have a query as to whether your organisation would be eligible
for a friends subscription or would like to enquire about the
scheduling of editorial in advance of joining please contact Scotsman
Assistant Editor Donald Walker dwalker@scotsman.com

To join as a Scotsman Friend please visit the relevant webpage below.

You can pay in two ways either by a recurring Direct Debit and also with a
credit or debit card. There is no VAT to be reclaimed on newspapers and
you will receive a transaction confirmation which can be printed for
your records. There is no long term obligation or contract but the
expectation is all participating organisations should hold a valid
subscription.

There are two Friends subscription options available:

The Scotsman (Mon to Sat)

http://www.localsubsplus.co.uk/SCO

Please input/paste the friends code 127PA-SCO (in the box to the
bottom left) to ensure you receive the full discount.

The Scotsman Mon to Sat plus Scotland on Sunday

http://www.localsubsplus.co.uk/SIX

Please input the friends code 128PA-SIX (in the box to the bottom
left) to ensure you receive the full discount.

Or, call one of our operators on 0844 991 6464 and quote either of the codes above. Lines are open Mon to Fri 9am to 5pm and calls cost 5p per minute.
To subscribe to two or more copies you can either repeat the online
transaction above or ask the call operator for assistance.

If your organisation cannot operate either a Direct Debit or card
payment we can offer an annual invoice service. Please send details of
the number of copies you require and billing details to
antonia.echefu@scotsman.com
Once you have set up your Friends' subscription you will be posted a
separate "copy consent form" for the content you submit for
publication in The Scotsman. You should sign and return this document
in the freepost envelope provided.
Many thanks we look forward to welcoming you into The Scotsman Friends group.
