Laing shines at weather-hit Swiss Open

SCOTLAND'S Vikki Laing shrugged off a couple of thunderstorm delays to set the pace after a great second round of 70 at the weather-hit Deutsche Bank Ladies' Swiss Open at Golf Gerre Losone.

With the tournament already reduced to 54 holes after Thursday's play was completely washed out by rain, 29-year-old Laing followed her opening 66 with a four-birdie round to set the target of 8-under-par 136.

It was also a good day for Krystle Caithness, the Scot who recently had a career-best second place at the Dutch Open. The 21-year-old also shot two under par 70 for a 5-under-par total.
