Lapdancing plan is axed

A COMMUNITY pub owner who sparked anger over his plans to introduce regular lapdancing nights has scrapped the idea, it was reported today.

Norman Martin, owner of the Rowan Tree in Mayfield, was planning to apply for a licence to host adult entertainment on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in what would be Midlothian’s first strip bar.

But the 58-year-old said it would cost too much to convert the lounge in the Rowan Tree and get the nights licensed.

His idea had attracted anger over fears it would send out the wrong message to youngsters.
