Use right route

I hope the Edinburgh trams are extended to the foot of Leith Walk because this would cover the busiest section of the planned line and the proposed developer contribution to the costs may cover a quarter or a third of these, and will not be available forever.

The next phase, however, is a loop line, much of it yet to be developed and containing Constitution Street, which is too narrow for safe use by modern trams.

In the days of the old, narrower trams the tracks here were laid to the west side, leaving a single lane for parking. The current trams would need the whole width.

Passengers for Newhaven would, I am sure, prefer the more direct route via Great Junction Street which, at about half the length, would probably also be cheaper.
