Festival review: Mace and Burton: Heartbreak Hotel; Buffs Club RAOB (venue 38)

TO BE fair, the rest of the audience seemed to be enjoying this PBH Free Fringe show much more than I was.

It is a bit of a “girl thing”. Guests from the Fringe are invited along to rake over their romantic break-ups. The two hosts (Mace and Burton) act as the best friends and we all sympathise wildly.

There are games (involving break-up lines), a singalong to Nilsson’s Without You and a great deal of aimless chitchat of a terminally girly nature. Guests Helen Keen and Sam Schafer are as charming and as entertaining as is possible to be, given the theme.
