Union rejects council pay deal

UNION leaders have raised the threat of industrial action by local authority workers after recommending rejection of pay offers.

Unison said it will consult its 600,000 members on industrial action after complaining that pay had fallen by
15 per cent since 2010 amid a wage freeze.

The union is to recommend rejection of offers put forward by employers, which it said included 0.6 per cent for some workers.
