Man charged after 'deliberately coughing' on a person in Scottish car park

A 60-year-old man has been charged after allegedly coughing on someone deliberately following an argument in a car park.

The bizarre attack happened in the Burn Lane area of Inverurie at about 11am today.

Officers said deliberately coughing on people during the coronavirus pandemic can cause major distress and anxiety and it will not be tolerated.

A police spokesman said: “A 60-year-old man has been charged in relation to an incident that happened in a car park in the Burn Lane area of Inverurie around 11.10am today.

“The 60-year-old allegedly deliberately coughed at another man following an argument.

“A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

“This behaviour can cause a lot of distress and anxiety in the current climate and we will not tolerate this.”
