Bread maker Genius Foods picks director

GENIUS Foods, the fast-growing Edinburgh-based gluten-free bakery, has appointed former Warburtons and Unilever executive Liam McHugh as its manufacturing director.

McHugh will oversee the development of the company’s manufacturing strategy following last month’s £21 million takeover of the Livwell bakery in Hull and United Central Bakeries in Bathgate, which Genius bought from Aim- quoted Finsbury Food Group.

He will also be in charge of developing the firm’s own-label production.
