TV deal helps boost Domino's profits

A MIXTURE of the cold weather and sponsorship of TV show Britain's Got Talent helped Domino's Pizza boost pre-tax profits by 27 per cent to just under £30 million in the year to 27 December. The franchised pizza delivery firm made £23.4m in 2008.

In addition, Domino's said like-for-like sales lifted 11 per cent in the first six weeks of 2010 and it was pressing ahead with expansion plans. However, its shares closed off 0.7p at 327p as it warned it faced "very tough comparatives, particularly in the second half, and an unpredictable economic environment".
