Distillery waste plant on course
The Aim-quoted firm, in which shipping line heir Alastair Salvesen holds a 23 per cent stake, will burn waste products from whisky distillers to power an animal feed factory.
News that the project is on course came as Helius – in which Perthshire investor Angus MacDonald holds a near-18 per cent stake and Stagecoach founder Ann Gloag nearly 5 per cent – narrowed its losses in the six months to 31 March to £644,000 from £956,000.
Chief executive Adrian Bowles said: “The Rothes project is now one year into construction and progressing well. This demonstrates our ability to develop, finance and deliver its projects.”
