Rangers duo exit update, two new Celtic deals, another Hibs departure, Tierney on Arsenal future - transfer rumour mill

We wrap up some of the stories doing the rounds in Scottish football this Friday morning

Rangers duo could head to Turkey

Trabzonspor chief Ertugrul Dogan claims the Turkish club has completed a number of transfers, with out-of-contract Rangers duo John Lundstram and Borna Barisic heavily linked with moves to the Super Lig outfit. “Three transfers are done and another transfer is coming to an end,” said Dogan. “We already had three transfers that have recently reached the completion stage.” Dogan’s update comes after it was revealed that Croatian internationalist Barisic has reportedly rejected a move back to his homeland with Dinamo Zagreb.

Tierney candid on Arsenal future

Scotland defender Kieran Tierney admits that his future is likely to lie away from Arsenal. The former Celtic left-back has spent this season on loan at Real Sociedad in Spain and with competitive fierce at the English Premier League club, Tierney knows first-team football will be limited. “There is every chance,” Tierney said on leaving Arsenal again. “Look at the squad depth in that position now. They have (Oleksandr) Zinchenko, (Jurrien) Timber, (Takehiro) Tomiyasu, (Jakub) Kiwior. Four players can play there. So if I go back and it’s the same as before then I’m not silly, I know the chances are I’ll be leaving. But you never know in football. You get the rare case with (William) Saliba, where he came back after a couple of good seasons (out on loan) but you don’t see it too often with someone who has played for four years, left, and then come back to play again. Stranger things have happened. I could go back and there is a place for me. So I’m prepared for both.”

New Celtic deals

Celtic have renewed the contracts of two young players, with Adam Montgomery and Joey Dawson landing extensions. Left-back Montgomery, 21, whose season was cut short by a injury after going on loan to Motherwell, is now tied to the club until 2027, while Dawson is now contracted until next summer after the 20-year-old striker agreed a new deal.

Le Fondre set to leave Hibs

Hibs manager Nick Montgomery has confirmed that Adam Le Fondre is likely to leave at the end of the season. The veteran hitman joined last summer but with his deal up, he is set to join Lewis Stevenson and Paul Hanlon in exiting Easter Road. “I’ve known Adam a long time, his family live down south and he spent three or four months out with a knee injury,” said Montgomery. “Alfie’s a big character. Those discussions have been that there likely won’t be a contract for him here next season. Alfie’s the ultimate professional, an out and out goal scorer – I’m sure he’s got a lot to offer moving forward. But he’s getting to the age now where he’ll be looking at what he’s doing moving forward. It’s not been a concrete decision, but it’s been discussions where it’s likely he will move on and be back with his family down south.” The future of goalkeeper David Marshall, however, has yet to be decided.
