Tennis: Ivanovic's birthday treat

Ana Ivanovic celebrated her 23rd birthday by defeating Kimiko Date Krumm 7-5 6-7 6-2 to reach the final of the Tournament of Champions in Bali.

She will play Alisa Kleybanova in the final after the Russian overwhelmed Slovak Daniela Hantuchova 6-3, 6-1. Ivanovic became world No.1 after winning the French Open in 2008, but earlier this year her ranking sank to 65. This week she is ranked 24 and if she can go on to win the final she will back inside the top 20.

David Ferrer secured a place in the final of the Valencia Open and improved his chances of qualifying for the World Tour finals when he upset second seed Robin Soderling 6-3 3-6 6-3.
