Scotland fall to defeat in Home International final

BOWLS: Scotland failed to land the Women's Home International Series title at Perth yesterday, crashing 126-94 to defending champions England at the Dewars Centre.

They only finished ahead on two of the six rinks and will no doubt look back at the early statistics of the match which showed they failed to score and lost thirteen shots across the board on the fourth and the sixth ends of the match to go from 17-16 down to 46-28 leaving them always chasing from that point.

Jean Sykes and Agnes Melrose finished with a 100 per cent record with Sykes from Auchinleck and her rink of Caroline Brown from Blantyre, Whiteinch's Lorna Cameron and Turriff's Liz Fraser also finishing as the top Scottish rink after wrapping up a 23-14 win over Wendy King.
