Rose happy to get strips assistance

Bonnyrigg Rose's under-21 team was presented with new strips by sponsor Tom Wilson of SPORTSassist.

Freshly kitted out in its traditional claret and amber, the Midlothian side will sport its new uniform while looking to continue an unbeaten start to the season.

SPORTSassist is the charitable umbrella of a host of companies offering a range of professional services. Sports clubs can become members of the scheme and, using a registered service, can gain financial reward for their custom.

Rose secretary Ian Richardson was delighted with the strip donation, worth 600. He said: "All the company wanted is the names of some of our players, and one or two have gone to them for insurance. We receive a set of strips then, for every name he gets, we receive a donation."

SPORTSassist's Tom Wilson said: "We have a passion for sport and a leaning towards making money for clubs. To become a known face in the area would be great." Loanhead-born Mr Wilson is now based in the north-east of England and added: "Sponsoring Bonnyrigg Rose means an awful lot to me. Living away from the area, it's very nice to bring something back to my own doorstep."

Rose are undefeated in 15 games this season and are set to contest a Scottish Cup fourth-round tie against Ross Vale this weekend. Rose's under-21 would like to thank RH Smith (Landscape Gardening), The Polton Inn, M&D Decorators, and Ferguson Park Garage) for their continued sponsorship.
