Miley takes short-course bronze medal

HANNAH Miley, Jemma Lowe and Jessica Dickons each won a medal as Great Britain enjoyed a good first day at the European Short-Course Championships in Szczecin.

Scot Miley won bronze in the 200m individual medley and Lowe took silver in the 200 metres butterfly in Poland. Dickons claimed bronze in the same race. Spaniard Mirela Belmonte Garcia won both races as she displayed the sort of consistency that brought her three world short-course titles in Dubai last year.

Miley clocked her fastest time in two years to take bronze in 2:08.34. “I’m so pleased with that,” she said. “What a great start to the week.”
