Hockey: Graham Moodie expecting tough shift for Uni at Hillhead

OLYMPIAN Graham Moodie resumes coaching duties for Edinburgh University on Saturday after returning from the Commonwealth Games.

And the Scottish international faces a tough challenge following the Scottish Hockey Union's decision to dock the students a point for failing to provide an umpire.

That leaves the University side bottom of the ten-strong division and Saturday's road trip to mid-table Hillhead is a daunting task.

The Glasgow side go into the game boosted by a point at Dundee Wanderers last weekend, having roared back from 3-0 down.

Former MIM stalwart Keith Joss, who now coaches Hillhead, has new Kiwi singing Craig Paterson in his line-up. Paterson netted a double in his debut last weekend.

Moodie said: "Hillhead never know they're beaten and they have an experienced coach in Keith.

"This will be really tough one for us and we can't go on conceding goals as we have been."

Elsewhere, Grange, who are third with ten points from four games, hope to extend their unbeaten run to five games when they entertain second-placed Clydesdale at Peffermill.

Seventh-placed Inverleith are also at home and they face fourth-placed Wanderers. The other fixture sees second-bottom Aberdeen play Menzieshill who are sixth.
