Hibs legends have it Hall to play for

HIBS are to launch their own "Hall of Fame" with a gala dinner at Edinburgh's Corn Exchange in October.

The inaugural list of nominees will be announced on 6 August to coincide with the Easter Road club's 135th birthday.

The event, which will take place on 15 October, has been almost a year in the planning by a management committee set up to represent four key organisations, the Hibernian Historical Trust, the former players' association, the supporters' association and the football club itself.

The "Hall of Fame" is intended to celebrate and commemorate the players, managers and other worthy individuals who have made the club what it is today and a permanent exhibition will be established within the players' lounge at Easter Road.

The dinner at the Corn Exchange will include a review of the club's history using unique footage and imagery never seen before, interviews and, of course, the inductions.

Tickets and further information are available on 0131-656-7073/4.
