Do you see Darren Barr as a ready-made replacement for Jose Goncalves?

Iain Lamb, Tollcross: "That would definitely appear to be the case. Jose has made it pretty clear that he wants to leave and so it makes sense to get a replacement in place as soon as possible."

Robert Morgan, Leith: "I think it's a certainty that Goncalves will leave. My concern is that Zaliukas will go as well. Barr is definitely a good signing, though – I am pleased that we have snapped him up."

Kenny Suttie, Murrayfield: "I think Barr is the ready-made replacement for Jose Goncalves. There is no way that we are in a position to sign Jose up again. All of the high earners at Tynecastle will be moved on in the summer, I'd imagine."

Jimmy Brady, Newtongrange: "Definitely. However, despite Barr being a cheaper option, I don't think that he is a poorer option. He has plenty of SPL experience and will be a Scotland regular in the future. A good addition."

Bryan Smith, Newtongrange: "I think he has definitely been signed up with the summer departure of Jose Goncalves in mind. Beating off competition from Aberdeen and Hibs was sweet too."

Alan Black, Gilmerton: "There will be a lot of comings and goings at Tynecastle next summer, I think. I would expect Goncalves to leave and I think Csaba does too. Darren Barr will definitely slot into his position next season."

Gillian Hall, Edinburgh: "I think most people will realise that is why we've signed Barr. We need strikers, not defenders and I think that Barr is definitely to cover for Jose going when his contract is up."

Frank Scott, Dalkeith: "Goncalves will definitely go and Barr might well take his place. However, it depends on whether Csaba sees Barr as a right back or a centre back. I would imagine he will play in a central role at Tynecastle."

Gordon Ingram, Dalkeith: "I thought that Barr would be a replacement for Goncalves as soon as I read that he had signed for the club. It's good to see Hearts bring in another young Scottish player."

John Stone, Newington: "It's most likely a replacement for Goncalves but possibly for Wallace leaving. If that happens and Jose stays, Jose might slot in at left back with Barr taking his place in the middle."
