Hearts manager Craig Levein made light of the departure of striker Kyle Lafferty by claiming the IQ of his squad has increased as a result.

Talking ahead of Saturday’s game away to Kilmarnock, Levein was asked how the squad had been affected by Lafferty’s move to Rangers. He joked that “the average IQ of the squad has gone up, that’s for sure.”

With Lafferty moving to Ibrox earlier in the week, Levein made a move for former striker, Osman Sow, to replace him in attack. Although that move now hangs in the balance following fitness concerns, Levein still appears to be in high spirits following Hearts’ positive start to the season.
