Kieran Tierney tweets photo after successful operation

Kieran Tierney has tweeted a photo for Celtic fans to see after the left-back underwent a successful operation on his ankle injury.

Tierney will miss around two months after damaging ligaments in his ankle. The injury means he’ll missed the remainder of Celtic’s Champions League campaign and Scotland’s trip to Wembley next week.

He tweeted along with the picture: “Op went well! Thanks for the continued support. Gutted I can’t make @TheNotoriousMMA [Conor McGregor] fight next week! Still buzzing to see him make history!”

The teenager is being deputised in the Celtic team by Emilio Izaguirre.
