The Edinburgh club is currently ninth in the 12-team Premier League but Fenlon says “the primary goal is to provide winning football to the Hibernian supporters, who have gone through some hard times recently.”

How much did Sone pay to join Rangers?

Sone Aluko last night secured his dream move to Glasgow giants Rangers, however, the move comes at a cost to the Nigerian international winger.

It has been reported that the 22-year-old will have to pay somewhere in the region of £150,000 (The Sun) to £200,000 (Daily Record) over the next two and a half years to his former club Aberdeen.

Aluko, however, believes he has made the right choice: “The way I see it is what I’ve done here is invest in my own future. I could have gone down a more normal route.

“But this is Rangers. It’s a huge club, on a huge stage and the chance may never have come around again.

Aberdeen manager Craig Brown expressed his disappointment at losing the player but was pragmatic when speaking to the press yesterday: “We [Aberdeen] should be disappointed that he [Aluko] has chosen another club, but I think the player’s got to look after his own best interests.”

The winger has signed on at Rangers until the end of the season with the hope of securing a further two-year deal.

Meanwhile, the Daily Record is also reporting this morning that Indian duo Jeje Lalpekhlua and Sunil Chhetri are hoping to follow in Aluko’s footsteps by securing deals at Ibrox. They are expected to fly into Glasgow today to begin trail periods at the club.

The Scottish Daily Express are leading this morning with the story that Sion have threatened to sue the SFA if they are not reinstated into the group stages of the Europa League.

The Swiss club took their case to the Court for Arbitration in Sport yesterday and expect to hear today if they will be integrated back into Group I of the competition.

Sion have confirmed they will lodge a £9 million damages claim against the French Football Federation over the ‘non organisation of the Rennes v Sion game’ after which the French club went ahead with their tie against Celtic after a Swiss court told UEFA that Sion should be allowed to return to the competition.
