Derek Adams wins appeal over extra ban

HIBS assistant manager Derek Adams has successfully appealed against a four-match touchline ban - but still faces another hearing.

The 35-year-old was found guilty of "excessive misconduct" in November for an incident when he was in charge at Ross County. As he completed a previous eight-match ban, Adams clashed with officials in County's Co-operative Insurance Cup loss to Dundee United in September.

He accepted an automatic six-match suspension for his actions, but launched an appeal against the additional four-game ban that was meted out by the SFA's disciplinary committee.

Adams has now had his appeal upheld and won't serve another four games in the stands. But he will be back before the SFA again at the start of March, after being sent to the stand during Hibs' 2-0 SPL defeat by Motherwell on 22 January.

The incident is the fourth time Adams has been reported by match officials over a three-year period, meaning his situation will automatically be discussed by the disciplinary committee.

It appeared fourth official Kevin Clancy pulled Adams up for foul and abusive language towards referee Alan Muir.
