David Taylor warns game is on slippery slope

FORMER Scottish Football Association chief executive David Taylor has warned that the game in Scotland will continue on a downward spiral if something is not done to arrest the slide.

The Uefa events chief executive described the impending loss of a Champions League place as a "big blow" and was damning in his verdict of the displays of Scottish clubs in Europe, particularly those outside the Old Firm.

"The performances of these other clubs in recent years has been very, very poor indeed, particular compared to the clubs from other countries who have similar sorts of resources," said Taylor. "We really have to look at our game. There are a whole range of factors need to be explored."
