Cup upset will focus Grange, says Rob Barr

Grange captain Rob Barr must now pick the bones out of a weekend of mixed fortune. The euphoria of taking over pole position along with Western Wildcats in the Subway hockey national league after beating Greaves Clydesdale 2-1 last week was overtaken by the depression of being knocked out of the Arthur McKay Scottish Cup by second division high-flyers CALA Edinburgh.

The way ahead for Barr is now clear: concentration on the league and they entertain city neighbours Inverleith at Peffermill today.

"Our cup exit to CALA is a reminder that we can't assume we'll automatically pick up points from teams below us in the league. Inverleith will be buoyed up and it's a local derby, so nothing can be taken for granted."

Inverleith are in action again on Sunday with a catch-up fixture against Grove Menzieshill in Tayside and Edinburgh University entertain Grove Menzieshill.

Elsewhere, Greaves Clydesdale should beat Aberdeen Asset Management, while Western Wildcats should do likewise against VWS Dundee Wanderers. In the second division, CALA Edinburgh travel to Chapman Motherwell and Stepps play Watsonians.
