Cricket: Carlton and Grange go head-to-head in Sixes
The Edinburgh club will be joined by Stenhousemuir in Group A when the country’s leading indoor tournament starts next month.
A young Grange outfit, skippered by Saltires star Gregor Maiden, won the tournament for the first time last season. But they face a stiff test from indoor specialists Carlton, who have lifted the trophy four times and who could field an entire team of Scotland caps. Heriot’s are favourites to prevail against Murrayfield DAFS and SMRH in Group B, while Uddingston will fly the flag for west clubs against Watsonians and Edinburgh University. Wildcats – the first female team to enter the event – will be tested by Edinburgh Accies and the Eastern Regional Academy.
