Boxing: Haye's defeat acts as a catalyst for Khan in title fight

WBA light-welterweight champion Amir Khan believes he can learn a lot from David Haye's recent defeat and has set his sights on putting pride back into British boxing.

The 24-year-old will defend his WBA crown in Las Vegas' Madalay Bay Center next week, where he will face five-time world champion and current IBF belt-holder Zab Judah.

Khan's unification fight comes hot on the heels of the much-hyped Haye bout in Germany with Wladimir Klitschko.

Haye was out-muscled and out-boxed by his heavyweight rival throughout the 12 rounds but Khan believes there are lessons to be learned from his friend's demise.

"David went in there and did what he did," he said. "It was a huge fight for him against the best heavyweight in the world and he didn't succeed.

"I am going to in there and give it my all. I think everyone knows when I go into a fight I am very explosive and I am not one to take a step back and take it easy.

"But I can learn a lot from the David Haye fight. I can get involved a little bit more and by not showing any respect for my opponent."
