Aberdeen Grammar 22 - 7 Glasgow Hawks

THE prospects of the North-east having a Premier 1 side next season look decidedly bright after an organised, effective Aberdeen Grammar saw off the challenge of Glasgow Hawks who did not appear to have the self-belief required to stay in the top flight.

The home side scored two splendid tries through winger Erlend Oag, who was picked up a second brace in a week to prove what an acquisition he has been for Aberdeen. Had stand-off Rob Aloe kicked the points on offer the game would have been finished as a contest by half-time.

As it was, the Glasgow side stunned the homesters with a Rory McKay try straight from the kick off, with stand-off Mike Martin slotting the conversion.

But Aberdeen Grammar were not to be denied, sailing back into the ascendancy three minutes later when the excellent home scrum-half Morgan Ward nipped over for a try from which the Hawks were never to recover. Aloe had by this time found his touch, adding the conversion and a late drop goal
