Woman hurt in collision

A WOMAN was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car as she crossed a road.

The incident happened at around 12.30pm yesterday, outside Morrisons supermarket on West Granton Road.

The 30-year-old was conscious when emergency workers arrived, but was taken to hospital with a suspected head injury.

A police spokesman said: "The woman was conscious and breathing when we arrived and she was being taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

"She was believed to have suffered a head injury, but it was not thought to be life-threatening."
