She had last spoken to someone on the phone at around midday.

Strathclyde Police said that following a postmortem examination her death was being treated as murder.

They appealed for information about the incident.

Detective Inspector Scott McMillan said: "We know that Ms Farquhar was last seen around 10am on Sunday and then spoken to on the phone around 12 noon.

"What we need to establish are her movements between 12 and 5.30pm when her body was discovered.

"She was subjected to a violent and sustained attack which took place in her flat.

"It was an otherwise quiet Sunday bank holiday afternoon, so someone must have either heard a disturbance or seen people running from the flat around that time.

"I am keen to speak to anyone who was in Rockmount Avenue on Sunday afternoon."
