Deaf are denied chance to work

DEAF and hard of hearing people are still facing "huge barriers" to employment despite Government pledges to help them back to work, according to a report today.

Fewer than two thirds are in a job and many are being denied the chance to work, said leading charity RNID.

Research among almost 900 deaf and hard of hearing jobseekers found that half believe that jobcentres are not aware of the problems they are faced with.
