The A-Z of Glasgow Boys

A MAJOR exhibition of work by the influential Glasgow Boys is to open at the Royal Academy of Arts in London later this week.

It will be the first time the work of the movement has been shown in London in more than 40 years. The show was first exhibited at Glasgow's Kelvingrove Museum, where it was a hugely successful.

The Glasgow Boys created a stir by breaking with the artistic conventions of the late 19th century by exploring realist subject matter and working outdoors.

The exhibition opens in London on 31 October.
