Star snipper Denise back at Telford

HAIRDRESSER to the stars Denise McAdam is set to return to Telford College to meet the current stream of students taking the course that launched her career over 35 years ago.

Ms McAdam, who attended the college in 1974, has styled the locks of the world's top models, photographers, royal families and celebrities including Bo Derek, Cindy Crawford and Kylie Minogue.

However, the highlight of her career came recently with the announcement that she would receive the Royal Victorian Medal from the Queen - an honour reserved for those who have made an outstanding contribution to the lives of the Royal Family.

Despite having worked with royals for more than 30 years and having travelled the globe tending to the manes of the rich and famous, 52-year-old Denise, from Penicuik, still credits the start of her successful career to the time she spent at Telford College.
