Scots will still be generous

MORE than half of people in Scotland will donate the same amount or more cash to charities this year compared with 2010.

The poll - conducted by YouGov for investment managers Brewin Dolphin - shows that despite economic uncertainties, 54 per cent of Scots will donate the same amount of money, or more, to charities in 2011 compared with last year.

According to the research, the top three charitable sectors that people in Scotland would give to are in the fields of health (66 per cent), children (42 per cent) and animals (34 per cent).
