Rollers rock into action

HIGH rollers from across the city packed into Meadowbank Stadium for a roller derby spectacular.

Edinburgh's Auld Reekie Roller Girls took on London Rockin' Rollers All Stars in a dramatic skate-off.

The full-contact sport, played on an oval track, involves points being scored as two individual players, designated as "jammers", lap members of their opposing teams whilst both teams play offence and defence simultaneously.

The Capital team lost 93-117 to the visitors.
