Restaurant a health risk

a STOCKBRIDGE restaurant was closed down by public health inspectors after it was judged to be an "imminent risk" to public health, a court has heard.

Songkran 2, on Gloucester Street, was closed for five days from July 21 after conditions were judged to pose a risk to public health.

Inspectors found evidence of a risk of cross contamination as raw and ready-to-eat foods were being prepared together on the same work surface, while there was no hot water to facilitate cleaning.

At Edinburgh Sheriff Court, Sheriff Morrison awarded costs and agreed with the actions of officers acting on behalf of the city council.
