Red wine boost for anti-cancer drug

AN INGREDIENT in red wine can boost a drug's ability to combat breast cancer, research has shown. US lab tests showed that the compound, resveratrol, enhanced the drug rapamycin.

Growth was inhibited in cancer cells resistant to rapamycin when they were also exposed to resveratrol.
