'Queen has no idea what is going on' says Charlotte Church

Singer Charlotte Church has claimed the Queen "has no idea what is going on" in an outspoken interview.

The Welsh diva, who has met the Queen at several Royal Command performances, has risked upsetting the Royal Family with her comments, published yesterday.

She said: "I've met her about seven times and she never remembers me.

"When you get close to her you realise she's an old woman and has no idea what's going on.

"I feel really sorry for her. She probably doesn't want to be wheeled out at every Royal Variety Performance to watch scantily clad dancers and s***ty comedians."

The mother-of-two, 24, who made her name with renditions of religious songs and was known as the "voice of an angel", also said she had never been chatted up and always "did the chasing" herself.
