Police probe death of man 'with knife wounds'

THE death of a man who died shortly after being admitted to hospital is being treated as suspicious.

Grampian Police has launched an investigation after the man was driven to a hospital in Peterhead yesterday evening. It is thought he was suffering from knife wounds.

Police said the man had travelled to the hospital from the coastal village of Boddam in North Aberdeenshire.

Detective Chief Inspector Malcolm Stewart said: "We are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death and those inquiries are at an early stage. We can confirm the death is being treated as suspicious."

The man is believed to have been in the Claymore Crescent area of Boddam around 5pm.
