Police hunt shop raiders

THIEVES who broke into a shop to steal £300 in cash, cigarettes and alcohol are being sought by police.

The thieves targeted the Cost-U-Less shop on McNeil Avenue in Loanhead, Midlothian, in the early hours of Thursday.

CCTV footage showed two suspects forcing open the front door of the shop at around 3:30am.

The suspects made off in a grey Volkswagen Golf, which had previously been stolen from Durham Road South in Duddingston. The vehicle was later recovered in Edinburgh.
