Pair charged over restaurant and shop raids across city
The 25-year-old man was to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday, while a 15-year-old boy will be reported to the Children’s Reporter.
The pair were charged in connection with several alleged break-ins and attempted break-ins at businesses.The incidents occurred at the Peacock Inn in Lindsay Road, Britannia Spice in Commercial Street, both Leith, the Wok Inn and Mulberry Bush café, both Newhaven Road, the Old Chain Pier in Trinity Crescent, the Ainslie Park Leisure Centre in Pilton Drive, the New Happy Palace and Scotmid store, both in Granton Road, and the News Express store in Craighall Road.

Hide AdThe 25-year-old was charged with a break-in at the In Touch Indian restaurant in Inverleith Gardens. It was hit by burglars five times between January 24 and February 5.
Ruhu Choudry, the restaurant owner, boosted his security after the raids.
