Running scared?

Both Calum Stewart and David Roche (Letters, 3 March) continue the toxic SNP theme that us poor wee Scots are denied our independence vote by the big bad English parties.

The politics of grievance, which used to fuel tartan terrorism, is the last resting place of the hopeless and the hapless.

The power to change Scotland remains within the hands of the Scottish people at elections to Westminster, even the Conservative and Unionist Party recently reaffirmed that an SNP majority of votes and seats would constitute an independence mandate.

So why is the SNP is too feart to put the independence question? Has an outbreak of Stockholm Syndrome consumed their MPs and MSPs?
