Orwell

In Bookworm (Books, 30 January), it is suggested 1984 is a Scottish novel because it was written on Jura. But all Orwell's books are Scottish because he was a Scot, Eric Blair, with a Scottish father and French mother. Incidentally, regarding the "Dark Age Dreams" section of Bookworm, one of the best Arthur series is Mary Stewart's trilogy on Merlin (with an extra book on Mordred).
