No accounting

Bill Kidd MSP suggests huge savings can be made by cancelling the replacement for Trident (Letters, 24 April).

Good – anything to reduce the dreadful burden on the taxpayer.But, no, Mr Kidd wants to spend the money on other projects.Only in the wacky world of politicians could spending be described as saving – could this be part of our problem?
