Letter: Mob connection

Earlier this week the BBC aired a programme about the activities of the Mafia in Naples in corrupting local politicians.

Despite routine shootings, rubbish piled high in the streets and crumbling infrastructure they appeared to have a modern functioning tram system.

Surely the time is nigh for the city fathers to undertake a fact-finding jolly to meet their Italian counterparts. Surely an offer they could not refuse!
