Letter: Bias claims offside

THE morning after the BBC televised the Czech Republic game with Scotland live, Calum Stewart (Letters, 9 October) complains of anti-Scotland sports bias by the corporation.

In a free market, the BBC has to compete, using our license money, with many other media outlets and try to make best use of limited resources. The SFA has made it clear they want the arrangement to continue, to help the development of football in Scotland. To turn economic reality into a nationalist chip on the shoulder is misleading, wrong and rather sad. After watching the game, however, many Scots fans would wish the BBC had been outbid for this match also.
