Airport revenues

I was most amused by Edwyn Newman’s satirical letter (13
August) suggesting the “Ingliston Shopping Arcade” be turned into an actual airport.

I do see his point, but it is quite useful having shops in the airport to kill time while you’re waiting for flights.

But perhaps the airport could counter the commercialism by providing a little bit of culture – holding classical concerts or a providing a library, for example.

Or it could have a cinema area. I’d be very happy to pay to watch short films and scoff
popcorn.
