Johann Lamont set out Labour’s alternative to independence this week.

The proposals included the ability for the Scottish Parliament to impose income tax hikes on those earning more than £41,000 a year.

Setting out Labour’s alternative to independence six months before the referendum on Scottish independence, Scottish Labour leader Johann Lamont said the proposals could “reverse Tory tax cuts for the rich” and would ensure that those with the “broadest shoulders should bear the greatest burden”.
